spring is coming….Are you thinking about cleaning and home repairs?

Well this week, it certainly feels like Spring is close…and that maybe I should think about cleaning and having repairs done on the house.   A certificate of insurance is a good thing to request from any type of contractor or repairman who does work on your home. It will  provide you with your contractors insurance information, just in case there is damage to your home, caused by the contractor, and you need to file a claim to pay for the repairs.   Well, I think I will just enjoy my weekend and put the cleaning off, if you on the other hand have the urge to be on top of spring cleaning here are some tips to make it more enjoyable…(like that can ever be possible).  ~ B. Spring is a time of renewal, and for many of us, this means plenty of cleaning. This also often means there’s a lot to do, which can be overwhelming and, at times, painstaking. We’ve outlined a few tips to make the process a little more bearable.

  • Make a list of everything that needs to be cleaned, and categorize by rooms. This will give you a clear outline in a more step-by-step format, instead of a mess of things that need to be done.
  • Have a bag for trash, and a bag for donations, ready. This way, when it comes to decluttering, you have two different places for all the things you’re getting rid of.
  • Organize a cleaning schedule. If you set an amount of time you want to work in each room, and enlist others to help you out, you’ll be able to move at a steady pace and won’t be so overwhelmed. Remember, work smarter, not harder.
  • Organize the way you clean. Have enough cleaners to start at the top of each room and work your way down to the floor, and to circle around the room, to make sure you get everything cleaned. Having a method helps with the madness.
  • Make it enjoyable. There’s no point in being miserable while you clean- so you might as well bust out the jams and find ways to treat yourself. Put on your favorite songs and dance as you go, and at the end of the day, do something you like to do. There’s no point in letting it be agonizing!

We hope these tips make the season of making your home spic-and-span a little more manageable, and we hope you have a happy and refreshing spring!
