Tom Greenwood has an update in today’s Detroit News on the impact of Michigan’s motorcycle helmet law repeal. Total motorcycle fatalities are up from 2011, but at the same level as in 2010. The statistics show a large increase in fatalities from those not wearing helmets in 2012. But how many of those people would have died with or without a helmet? We don’t know. That answer will have to wait for more detailed reports.
