I think we can all agree that one of the best parts of the holidays is seeing friends and family. However, traveling at this time of year can be a little stressful! I find having a plan and giving myself plenty of time, helps to keep me on track to make sure that my family and I arrive safely. Here are a few tips to make your holiday travel a little bit less stressful…
Have a “Plan B”. If the heavy traffic makes your route to dangerous or slow, have an alternative in mind that will keep you away from the frustration of the packed roads.
Take a deep breath. Everyone is rushing and anxious to get home around the holidays, so it is best to stay calm while driving.
Be early. Whether you are driving or flying, give yourself lots of extra time to finish your trip. Snow and traffic can easily ruin any tight schedule.
Try to travel at odd times. This will give you the best chance of beating heavy traffic. According to Travelchannel.com, the best times are early in the morning and late at night.
So this season, try your best to enjoy your travels, and I hope you arrive safe and happy!
