Be sure to keep a cellphone and car charger in your vehicle any time you are driving. Having a cell phone can make a world of difference if you are stranded!
Make an Emergency Kit:
Outer Clothing such as: Hats, gloves, socks, and blankets: Enough for any passengers that might be in your car. Sleeping bags are great too!
Hand and foot warmers
First aid kit
Jumper cables
Shovel
Salt or Sand: These can both give your car traction if you are stuck in the snow. Even a bag of kitty litter can be a huge help!
Empty gas can: in case you need to walk to a gas station
